We sat down with Clive to ask him a few questions about his career path, aspirations in his new role, what he’s looking forward to in the work and what excites him about working at SmartCo.
Clive! So, tell us, what has been your career leading up to SmartCo?
I have over 25 years of global experience across a wide range of roles in strategy, delivery and operations. I was also fortunate to live in The Netherlands for eight years of my career and have been in Directorships or VP roles growing professional service businesses across telco, media, financial services, public sector and consulting.
Most recently, I’ve spent two-and-a-half years at cloud transformation consultancy Contino, where I’ve helped scaling the business up to and through the acquisition with Cognizant.
What’s your new role and key responsibilities?
I am passionate about customer experience, transformation beyond the tech and unlocking business value at pace for our clients. Therefore, one half of my role is outward facing, really getting to know our clients (and their customers!), building relationships and working with our associates and delivery teams to ensure we optimise our engagements to deliver maximum value.
The other half of my role is inward facing, with the challenge to keep pace as we rapidly scale, responsibility across internal functions, systems, processes etc. and ensuring our culture remains engaging and FUN!
Overall, I’m very excited by the opportunity, the experience already within the business and our growth plans for the next couple of years. Being an independent boutique consultancy, we thrive on being ultra-responsive and flexible to client needs with some of the best talent in the industry.
What are you looking forward to most about the new role?
SmartCo is a disrupter in the transformation space. We have a real opportunity to leverage this further and bring refreshing new ways of working to the industry. I’m looking forward to bringing experience to the table and building our capability so that we have the capacity to help even more clients.
